Regenerating landscapes, protecting cultural heritage and supporting local communities

Forest Rebirth Foundation is a Dutch foundation dedicated to nature restoration, cultural heritage, education and fair community development, starting in Indonesia.

We work with local partners to build practical, transparent and regenerative projects that connect people, land, culture and future generations

Missie

Restoring Landscapes. Strengthening Communities. Preserving Heritage.

Forest Rebirth Foundation works with local communities to restore ecosystems, strengthen cultural heritage and create resilient futures for people and nature.

How We Work

Research & Preparation

Every project starts with field visits, local dialogue and careful assessment of ecological, cultural and community needs.

Community-Led Development

We work with communities, not for communities, ensuring local knowledge, priorities and leadership remain central.

Heritage Preservation

We support the documentation and safeguarding of traditional knowledge, crafts, cultural practices and local identity.

Ecological Regeneration

We contribute to landscape restoration, regenerative land use and the protection of natural ecosystems.

Sustainable Livelihoods

We help create opportunities that support local resilience, fair value creation and long-term community wellbeing.

Transparency & Reporting

We provide clear documentation, financial transparency and regular project updates to donors, foundations and partners.

Our Focus Area

Nature & Regeneration
We support initiatives that restore ecosystems, protect landscapes and strengthen biodiversity through regenerative land management, agroforestry and community-based conservation.

Cultural Heritage
We help preserve, document and safeguard traditional knowledge, artisan skills, cultural heritage and living traditions for future generations.

Community Resilience
We work with local communities and partners to strengthen self-reliance, create sustainable opportunities and support long-term social and economic resilience.

Education & Knowledge Exchange
We promote learning, documentation and cross-cultural exchange through workshops, field activities, research and future educational programs connecting people, knowledge and place.
